The preliminary feasibility team of the ITU Polar Research Center (ITU PolReC), the first and only center of Turkey's polar science research, has set out to find the right location for the Scientific Research Base in Antarctica. The journey under the auspices of the presidency and under the responsibility of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology is the journey of our country on Antarctica in the future; Scientific, technological, economical and political dimensions of the short and medium-term is of great importance in terms of having.




Under the leadership of ITU PolReC Director Assoc.Prof.Dr. Burcu Özsoy, the preliminary feasibility team consists of Assist.Prof.Dr. Burak Karacık from the Department of Ship and Marine Technology Engineering,  Dr. Hakan Yavaşoğlu from the Department of Geomatics Engineering, Res.Asst. Onur Sabri Durak from the Department of Maritime Transportation Management Engineering, Res.Asst. Ayşe Giz Gülnerman Gengeç from Institute of Science and Technology, Capt. Özgün Oktar from Department of Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering, Capt. Sinan Yirmibeşoğlu from the Faculty of Naval Architecture and Marine Sciences and also Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ersan Başar from Karadeniz Technical University and Lecturer M. Nurullah Alkan from and Hitit University.

The seminar entitled "Dialogue in the Future of Turkey and Japan" was held on 1 March, 2017 at the Conference Hall of the ITU Civil Engineering Faculty. The purpose of the seminar was to provide opinion exchange for the purpose of creating a culture of future and strong dialogue between the two countries. One of the most important guests of your event was Norio Ehara, Consul General of Japan in Istanbul.

Norio Ehara, Consul General of Japan in Istanbul, will give a seminar to the Turkish youth entitled "Dialogue in the Future of Turkey and Japan" at the faculty conference hall at 11:30-13:00 on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.

Civil Engineering Faculty members and students from Amity University, Dubai were welcomed in our faculty.

In the frame of the program we have prepared, various experiments, technical trips and demonstration tests were carried out in our Construction Materials, Structures and Earthquake Engineering, Transportation and Hydraulic Laboratories together with our guest group. In this context, we would like to thank the lecturers and their assistants who are responsible for their labor and facilities in our laboratories.

Moreover, we are pleased to announce that our Dean's office has been reported with praise for the visit of Amity University in The United Arab Emirates Daily Gulf Today.
